What is a HEIC file?

HEIC stands for High Efficiency Image Container — Apple's default camera format since iOS 11 (2017). It uses the HEIF compression standard to produce images roughly 50% smaller than equivalent JPGs, without any visible quality loss.

The catch: Windows, Android, and most web apps still expect JPG. That's the gap this tool fills.

What is a HEIC file?
